How We Got Started

We were approached by an Occupational Therapist that was retiring her business and knew there was a need for therapy for kids in our area. We did a soft opening on June 1st, 2017. In a short period, we were growing and officially opened our door on October 5th, 2017. Then we moved to our new location and opened full time February 13th, 2018. Today, we have expanded into a 4,000 square foot facility and continue to grow.

Our Mission

We hope to reach as many children/families as possible who are in need of our services. We believe that collaboration with the family’s/caregivers is very important. We love sharing information and training for how to implement what we know as professionals, within families daily lives, so that the child and family can “be in stride”.

Our Services

Choosing Kids In Stride as your Therapy provider allows you to receive Occupational, Physical, and Speech Therapy on site, ensuring that you experience a truly integrated multi-disciplinary service.

Here are some of the services offered to our clinic:

Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy is about helping an individual, at whatever age, be able to obtain independence in their daily tasks and in all environments, they have to navigate such as: school, home, work, community, and recreationally.

Speech Therapy

Speech Therapy is a treatment to assess a person’s ability to not only speak, but to be understood, and be able to understand.

Physical Therapy

Physical Therapy for pediatrics is to help a child, whatever age, be able to perform physical tasks required for daily activities.

Therasuit Method ™

(Intensive Therapy)

Intensive Therapy, is a higher frequency of sessions and a more intense level of therapy compared to traditional therapy.

Feeding and Swallowing Therapy

Feeding/swallowing therapy includes all aspects of drinking, eating, sucking, chewing
and swallowing.

This place is WONDERFUL! Could not recommend it more highly! We moved from San Francisco to Hayesville over the summer, and we were nervous about the kind of care & support we’d be able to find for our daughter who is developmentally delayed in a few areas. She had been receiving speech and occupational therapies through a private clinic back in SF, in addition to speech + other services in her public pre-K, and we worried that we would not be able to find the same quality of therapies in such a rural area. The pediatrician we had transferred to in Murphy referred us to Kids in Stride, so we took the leap & had her begin both speech and occupational therapies there. Three months on, we could not be happier! Our daughter is always so excited to go to therapy, she LOVES speech and OT and we have seen her progress and thrive so much in such a short time. Every single person I have come in contact with there, from the wonderful therapists to the admin such a sweetheart & So helpful & communicative!, to Elizabeth, the founder, has been nothing but kind, passionate about what they do, enthusiastic about helping each kid in their care & excited to include the parents in on the process. I am so grateful we found this place for our daughter & thankful that this area has such an incredible support system for kids & families who need a little extra help!
